1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using BillSnap, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use BillSnap.

These terms apply to the BillSnap desktop application and this website (billsnap.vercel.app).

2. What BillSnap is

BillSnap is a free, offline desktop application for Windows that allows small shop owners to create invoices, manage inventory, and generate reports. It runs entirely on the user's own PC with no internet connection required and no external server involvement.

BillSnap is provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no premium tier, and no future obligation to pay for any current features.

3. License to use

BillSnap is open-source software released under the MIT License. The full license text is available at github.com/iAdityaSharma2912/billsnap/blob/main/LICENSE.

In plain terms, the MIT License means:

You do not need to ask permission to install BillSnap on multiple PCs, use it across multiple shops, or modify it for your own needs.

4. Your data and content

You own all data you enter into BillSnap. Customer records, invoices, inventory items, company settings — all of it is yours. It is stored locally on your PC at %APPDATA%\BillSnap\ and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

We make no claim over any data you create using BillSnap. We have no ability to access your data, and we accept no responsibility for data loss resulting from hardware failure, accidental deletion, or other events on your own PC. We strongly recommend using BillSnap's built-in Backup feature regularly.

Any use of BillSnap to create false, fraudulent, or misleading invoices is strictly prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence under applicable Indian laws including the IPC and IT Act.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

BillSnap is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

We make no warranties that:

BillSnap generates Cash Memo / Delivery Challan format invoices. It does not currently generate GST Tax Invoices with GSTIN and HSN codes. You are responsible for determining whether BillSnap's output meets your legal and regulatory obligations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the BillSnap developers shall not be liable for any:

Your use of BillSnap is entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all invoices before printing or sharing them, and for maintaining backups of your own data.

9. Updates and changes

We may update BillSnap from time to time. Updates are distributed as new installer versions on the GitHub Releases page. There is no automatic update mechanism — you choose when to install a new version. Older versions will continue to work as long as your Windows PC supports them.

We may update these Terms of Use. Material changes will be noted in the GitHub repository's release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, India.
